Sometimes, you have to be arrogant to get what you want.
I wonder why people never learn. Be nice and I'll be nice as well.
As usual, I was doing my daily monotonous job, and was trying to reach a certain person in a certain company. Now, I really hate it when their underlings ask me to call back (but don't give me a specific time), act like they're the boss, or are just plain rude. I hate it even more if it's a PRC. Because they always ask me to speak in THEIR mother tongue. Hello, you work in MY country and you ask me to speak in your comfortable language? That's the biggest joke ever.
Anyway, she told me her boss doesn't come to the restaurant. So fine, office number? Don't want to give. Never mind if she was polite. But she tried to act smart and ask where I was calling from. Rudely. I snapped back at her and revealed my company's name. Which is, by the way, one of the biggest and most influential companies in my country.
Obviously I left her shivering and begging for forgiveness. Hahaha, ok no. But she got scared and gave me what I was asking for.
This is not the first time I've had to act arrogant to get what I want. I don't like it, really. Most of the time, I have no intention of even calling the person I'm looking for anymore. I just want to get the kick of scaring these morons who think they can act big.
Yeah, I'm horrible.

You don't give terms & conditions when giving a reward.
I have worked at so many places before, and have seen all sorts of people in my life. Nasty bosses, nasty clients, nasty colleagues.
My current two bosses are the ultimate limit. Seriously, all the EQ courses in the world won't save them.
They decided to have some mini competition between the two teams, and to cut the story short, we won. The initial reward was to let us all go back 1 hr earlier. But today when he announced the winning team, he decided to change the reward to us coming to work 1 hr later.
Reason? Because afternoon is peak period. My foot. 5pm to 6pm, hardly any clients are sitting pretty in their office waiting to receive calls from us.
And what's the point of coming in 1 hr later? Firstly, starting at 930, and 830, doesn't make a difference. What are we supposed to do in the morning with an extra hour? Go market also cannot. Sleep extra 1 hr also not much difference. Jam is still the same. What's worse, I don't have a shuttle bus to work at that time, and no way am I walking 20 mins in the bloody hot sun to work.
So we decided to counter offer. We said we still wanted to go home 1 hr earlier, but since he's so damn worried about lack of manpower *eyeroll*, we will take different days instead.
Guess what the bloody idiot replied? Replied with terms and conditions. Must have good sales on the days we pick, must not have people on MC or on leave, must this must that. Then wth you give a reward for when you have so many terms and conditions? It's like giving a present and then saying: "I expect something back from u in return ok?"
We got fed up and replied back that we'll just come in 1 hr later as proposed initially, and now the idiot insist we go back 1 hr earlier. Seriously, he can never NOT piss us off every day.

Ela in Thailand
You don't have to parade around in bikinis w ur face caked w makeup to make a difference in this world.
These few days, I was in places that not many pple will be willing to visit. I met pple who have no identities, no homes, no future. My heart really saddened when I saw their living conditions.
As I'm blogging this from my comfortable aircon room in bangkok w free wifi, these pple r sleeping in badly ventilated cramped houses w terrible sanitary conditions.
I came back to a wifi room to discover who won miss Singapore. Well, I usually don't follow the contest, neither do I read about their background, but so happened after I got a job where I'm supposed to read the papers, I know a bit about the girls.
This girl said she wanted to prove that beauty queens aren't dumb. Do u actually need to have a title to prove so?
If someone had actually said she wanted to make use of the influence this title can give her, to make a difference to the less fortunate pple in third world countries, I might not be so cynical of such pageants.
What a sad n materialistic world we live in.

Well, this past one week had been a mixture of excitement and anger.
The exciting part first. I got to eat lunch with HIM! He's too hot. I should go drown in cold water, lol. And for the entire week, I had fun moments with him. Like bumping into him at the pantry where he gave me a hello hug *blush*, and writing a BYE BYE via Draw Something and showing it to him, hahahaa, I made him laugh on that one.
Anger part? 2 inconsiderate colleagues. Thanks to them, most of our special privileges have been taken away. And the irritating part? They don't feel guilty about it. Grrr.
Oh well, I'm trying to look for another job, so I shouldn't care so much.
Monday, I have a color coach session! Fun! Can't wait. And Tues I have dinner appt with a lovely couple. Yay, I finally have a life.

Ha. I got threatened with a lawsuit. Like wtf. Sorry, as a christian I shouldn't be swearing. But I'm so irritated.
And my upper ups still think I'm at wrong to report her. Like I give a shit. My heart isn't with this company anymore.
But I'm still in a good mood. Because dad found out about the threat, and I told him the entire story. He's proud of me! He said I did the right thing by reporting her. And that now my manager will know better than to piss me off, lol.
I have not seen Mike for a few days. Sigh. Kinda miss his gorgeous grin.
